Frequently Asked Questions
How does CalorieCam estimate calories?
CalorieCam uses AI-powered image recognition to identify food items in your photos and estimate their nutritional content including calories, protein, carbs, and fat.
How accurate are the estimates?
AI estimates are approximate and should be used as a general guide. Accuracy depends on food visibility, portion size, and image quality. For packaged foods, the AI attempts to read nutrition labels for exact values.
Where is my data stored?
All food entries and settings are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. Nothing is uploaded to external servers. Your photos are only sent temporarily for AI analysis and are not retained.
Can I change my daily calorie goal?
Yes. Tap the calorie ring on the Daily Log tab to open the goal editor. You can choose from preset values or enter a custom goal between 500 and 10,000 calories.
Can I view previous days?
Yes. Use the date navigation arrows on the Daily Log tab to browse your food entries from past days.
How do I delete a food entry?
Swipe left on any food entry in the Daily Log, or tap the delete button on the entry card to remove it.
CalorieCam is not a medical device. Nutritional estimates are AI-generated approximations and should not replace professional dietary advice.
